Earlier this week we had a lovely donation come in from two young boys who gathered donations for the animals instead of birthday gifts, that is so generous! Here is a note from Luke's mom withal with picture. *My son Luke and his weightier friend Ben had a joint birthday party on Feb 18/18 and asked everyone to donate goods to the humane society in lieu of gifts. My son unquestionably asked me to do this without his birthday last year! (proud momma right here!). Ben's birthday was Feb 1 and he turned 4; Luke's is on March 9 and he'll turn 6. Below is their photo with all the stuff they proudly placid and brought in on Saturday Feb 24! The boys squint forward to making this a yearly thing! They were so proud of themselves Thank you ! Keira is turning 10 on July 29th and had a early party so all of her friends could attend. Keira decided that she would collect donations for the Humane Society instead of gifts for herself. On June 25th Keira had a lazer tag party at Zapzone in Niagara Falls where she placid the donations. Dragonfly employees are people who believe in giving when to the community, and since so many of them are big unprepossessing lovers they decided to raise money to help the animals. Employees Magdalena Kuczynski and Michelle Sebek, and General Manager Stephan Voight visited the shelter on May 2 to bring us this trappy donation. We fathom your kind souvenir very much! Thank You Mya! Mya visits the NFHS to unhook some donations for a matriculation projectThe Nobody project is going on in Mya's Grade 1 matriculation at Kate S. Durdan school. Nobody is a plain denim doll that has no gender, age, or values. The goal is to turn the "Nobody" into a Somebody by giving it positive life experiences. With each positive wits it does, it will proceeds a personality and turn into Sombody that is special. Each student takes the doll for a week and plans something special to do. They think well-nigh who/ what they want to help and how. Next, students create a sharing page for the Nobody book. Finally, they pin a special memory item or picture to the doll as a reminder of its many helpful deeds virtually the community. At the end of the year, Somebody will represent some unconfined kids who did special things in the community. CHRISTMAS RAFFLE A HUGE SUCCESS Thank you letter from organizer George WeaverThe Niagara Falls Humane Society is thrilled to signify that $23,560 in tickets were purchased over the elapsing of the Christmas Raffle. One fact stands out whilom all others when we squint at the success of our Christmas Raffle during the previous 24 days. Without the generosity of the local Niagara Falls merchantry polity the NFHS raffle would never have gone remoter than a promising idea. We received donations from a wide variety of businesses in Niagara Falls permitting us to offer the public 2 main prizes and 23 souvenir baskets with a value of $350 to over $400 per basket. With so many businesses involved we were worldly-wise to provide the public with outstanding prizes containing a wide variety of items well-flavored to all interests. When we greeted customers and explained to them that all the prizes involved in the raffle were donated by local businesses it made customers perk up their ears and unshut their wallets to aid in our mission to help the animals get rehabilitated and ready for adoption. Cathy wrote numerous reports and did all kinds of paperwork for the raffle which unliable me to concentrate on getting donations and selling tickets once the raffle began. Sylvia donated all her services to the raffle. Sylvia's sustentation to detail and pride in her work withal with her sense of humour made her a joy to work with. Many thanks to the Christmas Raffle ticket selling team Karen Canning,Pam Brown,Hether Deans,and Sheri Sutherland-Burrell. You provided a friendly squatter and a welcoming voice to help yank people in to see our prizes and buy tickets. With your help I was worldly-wise to take superintendency of other raffle merchantry and have some time each day to relax knowing that you were taking good superintendency of our customers. Twelve months of the year seven days a week a small group of defended volunteers staff our Cat Adoption Centre at Niagara Square. With the help of these caring volunteers over 700 cats have found new homes during our 2 years and 3 months of existence inside Niagara Square. This Christmas raffle inside the Adoption Centre was a record breaking fundraising event to help all of the animals in the superintendency of the Niagara Falls Humane Society. Everyone involved with volunteering their time at the Adoption Centre should take unconfined pride in the knowledge that not only do we lead the way in adoptions but now moreover provide the Society with a major source of revenue as well.
